This remarkable yacht is crafted from an astonishing 100,000 kilograms of gold and features decor made from dinosaur bones and tiny meteorites.
The title of the world’s most expensive yacht belongs to an anonymous Malaysian businessman. Measuring thirty meters in length, the yacht is part of the History Supreme series and took three years to construct. It is reported that approximately 100,000 kilograms of precious metals, including gold and platinum, were incorporated into the ship’s design. These metals are used for the yacht’s base, deck, dining area, railings, and anchor. Notably, one of the bedrooms is adorned with meteorites and the actual bones of a Tyrannosaurus rex, one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs from the late Cretaceous period.
The Baia 100 Supreme yacht is valued at a staggering $4.85 billion. In comparison, Roman Abramovich’s yacht, Eclipse, is estimated to be worth between $500 million and $800 million and is currently rented out for $2 million per week. With a length of 162.5 meters, Eclipse holds the title of the largest and most expensive motor yacht available for charter.
The identity of the yacht’s owner remains undisclosed. According to Forbes, the wealthiest Malaysian in 2011 was Robert Kuok, with a fortune of $12.5 billion, amassed through ventures in sugar, palm oil, freight, and real estate.
Another potential owner is Ananda Krishnan, Malaysia’s largest cellular operator and the owner of Maxis Communications, who has an estimated net worth of $9.5 billion. The assets of other Malaysian billionaires are valued at $5 billion or less—should they invest in a yacht, it would be merely pocket change for them.
