This impressive 180-meter vessel, Azzam, is owned by UAE President and Union Defense Force Commander Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, whose net worth is estimated by Business Insider to be around $18 billion. Designed by NAUTA Yachts and built by Lürssen in Germany, Azzam debuted in 2013. According to the Daily Mail, Azzam—meaning “loyalty” in Arabic—is “the most complex yacht ever built,” featuring an armored premium passenger cabin, a cinema, swimming pools, and two helipads, along with missile defense systems.
Launched on April 5, 2013, by Lürssen, Azzam is the world’s largest private motor yacht. The project was overseen by engineer Mubarak Saad al Ahbabi, who led the team in meeting all technological and design requirements to satisfy the expectations of its esteemed owner. Azzam stands as a pinnacle of modern engineering, valued at approximately $600 million.
Among its luxurious features, Azzam has a 29-meter-long, 18-meter-wide main cabin with a fully open layout. It is powered by a combination of two gas turbines and two diesel engines, delivering an astounding 94,000 horsepower to four water jets, allowing it to reach speeds over 30 knots across oceans.
